Profile

I have worked in the public sector for 20 years, and bring a strong track record in strategic leadership and delivery of major change programmes. I have a PhD on the psychology of organisational change and 6 years experience as a coach. I am very interested in helping others to do work that is meaningful to them.

 Coaching Style

My style is eclectic, drawing on a wide range of approaches from NLP, psycho-dynamic and behavioural theories. I take a client centred approach, beginning with the issues which the client brings and identifying the best approach to match their preferred style. I also use creative, narrative based approaches where appropriate. I believe that the coaching session should be both enjoyable and challenging.

 Years of Experience

I have 20 years of experience in the public sector and 7 years experience in the third sector in the UK. I have 14 years experience at senior level working regionally and nationally in executive and non-executive roles. I also have 6 years experience as a coach.

 Career Background

I worked for 7 years in the charitable sector, and for the last 20 years in the public sector. I have held a number of senior roles in the NHS, including National Head of Evaluation for the NHS Modernisation Agency and Director of R&D for a Strategic Health Authority. I have expertise in evaluation of impact, public involvement and engagement, and service improvement / change management. 

 Qualifications & Training

I have a degree in English and Philosophy, a Post Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management, a part-Diploma in Managing Health and Social Care. I also hold a Doctorate in Organisational Psychology from Manchester Business School. I have honorary appointments at Manchester Business School, University of Lancaster and Liverpool John Moores University.
