Bridges to the New – card deck (2022)
This card deck was created as a part of the Gratitude Project. It’s a set of cards, each with a different image that suggests a way to think differently about the challenge, project or idea that we are working on. Using a card or cards and the questions on each card prompt us to think in different ways about the ideas or solutions that we are seeking.
There are 25 individual cards plus a Chief Explorer card with the instructions for use. They come packaged in an eco friendly cardboard box.

Where can I use these cards?
- For tackling a broad problem where the answer isn’t obvious
- For coaching a client or self-coaching
- For developing a project, to create a range of options to pursue
- For giving a different perspective where the answer seems obvious but that may not be the best solution
Ways to use the cards
- Draw a card from the deck and ask yourself the question, see what ideas it promotes that you may not have otherwise thought of – write for ten minutes in response to the question
- Draw a card and discuss it with a colleague, what ideas does this create for you?
- Look at the question, look at the picture – how does the metaphor suggested by the picture and the question move your ideas forward?
- Draw three cards, the first one to look back, the second one to look at the present and the third card to think about the future. Write down the ideas that emerge from this.
- Create multiple answers to your question, and then decide which ones you want to turn into an action plan
