Seeing the Extraordinary in the Ordinary 6

A guest post today from June Angela. It’s been a while since we had a post from the Tyke in Exile – another in the series on seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary:

When Madonna fell off the stage at The Brit Awards Wednesday gone, the whole nation gasped in disbelief and the real beauty and the beast of live TV presented itself.

This “fail safe” event got me thinking as the plaudits and credits applauding Madonna’s  professionalism dealing with her fall and proving as the Late Freddie Mercury sang … The Show Must Go On … yet over and above that I found myself asking what about the “cape bearers”  the ones who yanked the cape off her shoulders and to witness her famous tumble.  As a consequence have the powers that be recognised it was a genuine mistake that we are all capable of making, or have the “cape bearers” been removed from service by order of the Madge!!!   who knows?  ….

My question is this: to the world Madonna held her professionalism in the face of adversity ….. yet what does go on behind closed doors when no one is looking??    In turn in our own lives do we behave just as admirably or do we behave badly when no one is watching?  and which is the most important, dealing with the external world and what people perceive us to be, or what goes on internally with ourselves and our behaviour.   Behind closed doors who has the accountability?  …..

Perhaps that is seeing the extraordinary in the  ordinary ……..
