The answer is to just do it

I have been away for the summer. We went to Florida. Yes, it was fantastic. I am very grateful for having such a wonderful time.

There’s just a “slight” problem with the wind-down and relaxation. I am now back in action and putting back in place all of the habits and rituals that make my life flow and help me to be productive.

Usually after a holiday I find the email backlogs challenging. This time I have managed to clear them quickly. Using David Allen’s inbox to zero techniques really helps with that.

Some of the other things are much more tricky. We have been trying to get back to exercising for over a week. Hopefully that will be sorted later today.

I have a morning practise of meditation and reading which is back on track. So, what am I still missing – writing in all its guises. And you can see that from the fact that I haven’t managed to write in here until now.

So… this post is a gentle way to change all that. I have noticed that after a gap in posting it gets harder to get back to it. Something works away inside to say “the next post needs to be brilliant” to make up for the gap. This is nonsense of course. But it’s incredible how that self-sabotage sets in.

The message of this blog post then – lower the bar, reduce expectations and just do it! It’s good to be back.
