Betrayal of a Spiritual Friend?

A guest post from June Angela, a Tyke in Exile:

The betrayal of a friend is always very hard to swallow but when it is a spiritual friend who we have trusted and invested in for many years it seems to cut right to the foundation and core of our being. We try and analyse, looking at our actions of cause and effect and why this has happened.  Eventually, we try to learn and transform the action into a teaching that propels us on in the spiritual path of life.

In this instance looking for the extraordinary in the ordinary is more obscured; the barriers that habitually have come down like a shop shutter at the end of trading and the need to lock down is felt more than ever.  Old negative patterns that arise like loyal friends we believe them to be, yet skilfully they disguise themselves and certainly are not open to debate.

The realisation creates a little awareness and then a little space to understand that maybe, maybe this time it could be handled differently ….. and in that split moment when we see a grain of life in our hand, a tear drop before it emerges … for a split second we can experience the seeing of the extraordinary in the ordinary … for that split moment a new spiritual friend emerges from the palm of our hand and the corner of our eyes ………. and we can begin anew.
